I worked for this company for 3 weeks but they never gave me the money owed to me. They just said i broke my contract and they can keep up to 50,000 baht of my pay. Ive been trying to get in contact with XXXXXX XXXXX but just keep getting this woman who says she cant speak Thai.

I have been working at a private school in Bangkok. My school hired Apec to recruit teachers for the school. My school ended up cancelling the contract as Apec didnt send native English speakers. They sent Africans, Iranians and Egyptians who spoke basic English. Even these foreign nationals were afraid that they would not get paid. They had heard Apec had not paid some other teachers in the past. These guys could not get a job anywhere else so they had only one option Apec. This company seem to be taking advantage of foreign nationals who havent got to many options. The women in the office will be as sweet as pie until pay day comes then they won’t be able to speak English ( Mai kao jai). These foreign nationals need the native English teachers to speak up for them. The manager of this company seems to be a crook and nobody knows how he has been getting away with it for so long.

I’m an expat working in this beautiful country for the past 18 years. I have never come across a company like this in my lifetime. How does this guy expect to run a company when all he does is tell lies and steal peoples hard earned cash????. He sent me to a school near siam square claiming that i was getting 40,000 baht per month and when payday came around there was no cash ready for me. When i called them to ask where my money was??. They just said it was paper work and would be available soon. another 3 weeks went by and still no money so i called them and said i wasnt going back. They said
“if i dont go back i would be fined 30,000 baht for breaking my contract”. It has been 4 months now and all i have recieved is 8,000 baht in total off Apec. I’m seeking legal advice at the moment as i cant contact George Stack. The point i’m trying to make with this story is that Apec will make their contracts too good to be true and thats because they are You will more than likely be just like me and as from the rest of these postings i aint the only 1. A bit of advise would be to check out the recruitment agency before you decide to work for them. I didnt and am living to regret it. As for Apec and George your day will come.. Karma gets everybody in the end………………

  5. Kimpil says:

Maybe I’ve been lucky, but I’ve been working for APEC since May this year and I have never been paid later than the 9th. of any given month. I have a good contract where I teach at a government school with minor problems that is not because of APEC. I wouldn’t advice anybody against working for APEC – as long as you’re an adult and act as one.
If you leave a job after 3 weeks I think it tells more about you than anything else.
I’ve met other companies that doesn’t pay their teachers before the 15th every month and others doesn’t pay the full 12 month contract, since the teacher doesn’t work during March and April.
So for me it’s Ok to get paid the 10th once in a while – The time I needed an advance I got it with no problems. The staff at APEC are mostly OK and have always treated me with respect – maybe because I also treat them with respect

  6. ajarn says:

Don’t work for this company! George S**** is a crook. He’ll be as nice as pie while you’re making him money. When you leave he wont pay what he owes you, he does it all the time. It’s nothing to do with respect Kimpil, he doesn’t respect you! i’d like to know how you finished up with him, did he rip you off in the end too? I’d be surprised if he didn’t.
