Paulina`s comments are interesting in that she assumes that there are many people out there in the webworld who have nothing more to do than badmouth a school in Chiapas. Well, I`ve got news for you honey. I have taught at Centro Idoimaste de Sureste for a year and gave that school a 4.0 our of 5. Yours got a 1. I have taught university for 7 years stateside, and am currently teaching at two schools in the yucatan for my second year. I could not have asked for anything better. Your director is an ogre to work for and with. She is a tyrant on wheels. I don`t know what her beef with foreigners is, perhaps with her atrociously arrogant attitude for the 7 years that she lived in Canada she must have annoyed to no end each and every foreigner she met and their repulsion to her atrocious behaviour has soured her on her dealing with foreigners. If that be the case, she has a serious psychological problem. It`s called extreme ethnocentricism, or jingoism galore. Now that she has her little kingdom of a language school she can wreck revenge on all those gringoes who told her to her face how obnoxious she is, but here in MX she is able to work with the locals and they keep their mouths shut and roll their eyes behind her back.

Well, for what I’ve seen everyone likes to talk about me!! Finally here I am and I don’t know why the lack of knowledge that Maria (Mary, Marie, Masha or however it’s written) it’s such a popular name WORLDWIDE. And doesn’t only apply to me hahahaha this goes for everyone.

I don’t need to hide myself neither use other names so please stop with your annoying comments to everyone if it’s me. Well ask the other person or ask me. I can always send you my e-mail. Everyone who has ever worked at Canadian Center knows me just as I know them. So please “Darril, Perra & Celeste” If you want to bother me don’t be…. and use your real names because NEVER anyone with those names has ever worked there. BTW also include the real name of your Mexican/Latin friend from the comments, it’s easy to tell because of it’s JAJAJAJA when Native English Speakers never use that!!
And please don’t bother other people just because of me

I’ve been following all of these comments for a while and I’ve tried to stay out of the fray, but I think that some people have ulterior motives and are trying to damage the prestige of Canadian Center and obstruct the hiring process of foreign teachers.

I’ve worked in the administrative area for over 11 years at Canadian Center mostly doing the immigration permits for foreign teachers and there has never been, not even for a day a “John Anderson.” It’s very clear that someone is trying to affect the school and depriving foreign teachers from an opportunity to live and work in Tuxtla Gutierrez.

I think it is unwise to allow wholly fabricated comments to languish on your forum. This practice deprives your users of credible information.

This was one of my worst teaching jobs. Overcrowded classrooms, equipment that did not work, low pay for too many hours, plus a very autocratic teacher.

I used to be a student at Canadian Center. I entered when I was 10 years old (American Shine 3) and finished when I was 11. It is the best school of the town. Believe me. I passed an exam more difficult than the TOEFL…the CAE…Certificate of Advance English. Canadian center is the best place to learn. The second…CLE: Centro de Lenguas Europeas. Yeap. Don´t use criticism.

Marie…….I don’t know who THE HELL you think you are but girl….you are SOOOOOOOO wrong sweetie!!!!!! For your information, this place is like hell on earth! I’d have you to know that we are currently employed at the freakin’ Canadian Center and are extremely and utterly displeased with your FALSE and atrociously inaccurate depiction of this hole in the wall English school!!!
First of all HONEY…..I doubt that you’ve EVER worked here with your lying behind. Second of all, I’m PRETTY sure that you ARE a freakin’ relative of that waddling, leggings and sneakerswimp of a director that doesn’t know WHAT the HELL is going on! AND third of all SUGAR……you need to shut the hell up cuz you don’t have the foggiest idea of WHAT you are talking about!!!!
FINALLY…..let me let you know that as far as we’re concerned, this is the worst place in the ENTIRE human universe that we’ve ever…EVER taught at! For the amount of hours that we have to work and all of that unecessary and routine BULLSHIT that we have to put up with….it IS NOT worth that meagre 60 pesos and hour!!! Futhermore, having to deal with constant foolishness like late slips and outdated material and equipment is beyond ridiculous, time consuming and a waste of precious time! Hey….we only have one life to live!!! I’d like to know who’s that IMBICILISTIC IMBLICILE that actually sat down and took time out of God’s great gift of a day to create such toxic,foolish and time wasting dribble.
AND MARIE, if that IS your real name…..or should WE address you as MARIA LUISA….COULD YOU TELL US, WHAT IS “DYNAMISM”?!? HUH? Never in our lives have we EVER heard of that term!! And PLEASE don’t tell us that it is hopping around a classroom with TIGHTS!!!!!jajaja

Canadian Center sucks!!…. it is not a good place at all for foreign teachers nor mexicans!!!… low payment for too many duties, especially for native teachers (who most of them are not qualified English teachers, but just native speakers). classrooms, materials, resources and all kind of equipment are such a shame!! they are in poor conditions.

I agree with Ethel ; at the Canadian Center either you learn how to teach or practice if you already know how to. Goals are already set and with the proper WORK and discipline those goals are met.
