I was one of those teachers that Tian Chi is referring when she mentions that foreign teachers were fired or left at the end of the contract. I am an experienced teacher who relates well to my students and I thoroughly enjoyed teaching my history and Business classes. Indeed, I was privileged to teach some of the best students in my career, but the administration at the school was, simply speaking, horrible to deal with and extremely unprofessional. When contract talks began, I was called into the headmaster's office and told that I would not be offered another contract. My beautiful students found this out and all called their parents to complain. In turn these parents called the school threathening to remove their children and what do you know, I was called back into the headmaster's office and told that she had reconsidered and would like to offer me a contract with a 50% raise. I declined and came back to the US at the end of my term.

I was a student at CZIS. At first glance, the school seemed very promising with its big facilities. However, it is a farcry from the advertising they put out. The school was to me an elaborate student-trap.They force our parents to pay a years worth of tuition to make sure we didn't leave right away. The reason I left CZIS was that eventhough it clearly advertises itself as a school it wasn't CERTIFIED. The only way to get a highschool diploma is to take the A' level test in Shang hai. This is a SCAM!!! I wish to spread the truth as a fellow student who lost his time and money from this school.

I left the school during winter break of 2007 after spending a term in CZIS. I am in contact with most of the former students of the A' level class. Now former students of that class. They told me that most of the students left after the end of the school year. Most of the foreign teachers who taught us that year were fired or left after the contract was over. All of us hopes to put this nightmare behind.

Hi,

I applied for a job with BJ-WITT earlier this year 2007. I asked the standard questions of a copy of their contract and the names of some teachers I could talk to for direct feeedback. They refused both requests which sent warning signals about them - do they have something to hide? Most schools are happy to send the contract and contacts. Further networking found a teacher sacked who worked for them at a school in Jiangsu with no reason given. The guy was devastated as he had done a very good year's work, and was promised another year.
I'd say avoid working for this company. They want experienced, qualified teachers, and those of us with those credentials can do alot better than with a company like this.

Beijing WITT treated my wife and I very well for two years in China. I don't mean to say that you weren't screwed over but I thought I'd balance things out.
By the way, you're right on Changzhou International being ratty.
