I have been hesitant to post my comments as LCSE has been known on this forum as well as on other ESL forums to viciously attack those who post their displeasure’s with experiences dealing with this school. I was with LSCE from February to May of 2008. It was one of the worst experiences in being an ESL teacher, if not of my life. When I left, I was to last instructor to do so other than the owner, his wife (the academic leader) and her son. Six other instructors all left during that period of two months.

The school is seriously flawed from day one. The so-called four-week training period is a a ruse: you teach for them for free for 20-30 hours per week. The texts are a mess: photocopied materials which are sometime barely readable. The curriculum, well, try to make any sense of it. The school by its own statement does not teach grammar by design. Fine and dandy, but how can one teach a language without basic grammar? As for how the teachers are treated, well, like I said, seven of us quit within a month.

The school no longer posts on this board, Dave’s ESL, ESLbase.com or other recognized boards after having many posts rejected by the moderators.

There are many points to bring up about this school. I am willing to accept any private messages from this board and will be happy to provide contacts with others who share my feeling that the time spent at LCSE was a bad experience.

If anyone is a new ELS teacher, LCSE sounds like a good deal but it isn´t. Stay away. I am sure LCSE will want to reply to this. They are welcome to as I am comfortable with what I am saying.

This school is a waste of time both for students, and teachers. Check them out on the net, it is very easy to dig up crap on them.

  3. Reportero says:

American teaches should avoid this school at all costs! The living conditions during training are terrible at the Nayarit school and you are required to teach 20-30 hours per week for free. Then if you leave, they put you on their website blacklist. Again, don’t be lured by their website claims!

I am curious why my comments are still under moderation. LCSE is a seriously flawed school. I am sure others have posted as well.

    Thank you.

Admin Edit: You’d ask for your comments to be held back, I assume this is giving permission for them to appear once again.

They have a notorious reputation of treating their teachers and their students very poorly. In all my time teaching here in Mexico I have not heard one positive comment about this school.

The Laughing School of English was probably the worst experience of my entire life. The owner are pathological liars, bigots, and uneducated hillbillys. I can only see their entire “school” as some sort of scam on the people of Mexico, and the poor teachers who apply to work there. Steer clear of this school at all costs.

  7. Sandy says:

There’s an extremely interesting blog about this school and its whacky, crackpot owners…

    Enjoy the madness!!

  8. Mission accomplished my friends. The Laughing Coyote School website is down…seems the school let their domain name expire on April 19th, probably because it was no longer viable what with all of our efforts to link to it. While they will most likely move to another domain name (can anyone find the new one?), the Blacklist is no longer online and THAT was the goal.

    Good work everybody!

I would appreciate any peson with teaching experience at LCSE to contact me at iaap@teachers.org.

  10. Dr. David Ellsworth says:

This school is a fraud founded and operated by hucksters with fake degrees and phoney backgrounds. They have accused former teachers of many offenses but none were greater than those they committed themselves.

  11. Trudy Ostermann says:

Once again Laughing Coyote school is trying to hire teachers. They have a new name, Total ESL and their website is http://www.totalesl.com I personally know Mexicans that were cheated by them in Las Varas and sincerely hope that it doesn’t happen again or that any aspiring English teachers will have the same bad experiences.
