I received this information from a person that has been involved with this agency for the past 4/5 years.
Time2Talk may have many bad things to write about but so do many organizations. Just be sure of what you are signing up for and know the law, specifically as applicable to work permits. Time2Talk is a good place for the person who likes to only get paid and work a minimal amount of time. The requirement may be high, but so is teaching. If you do not want to put in the time for the kids then do not bother. Their wage is 270THB/ hr. and is stated everywhere and supported completely. The only drawback I see is you need every supply for teaching.
As far as work permits go, they do not lie so much as they do not seem to know the actual laws. But, who does in this f’ed up country? As with any job anywhere know the laws before you agree to work for them. An employer is only as smart as you give them credit for.
I agree with the comments posted. I can say that after working with them for a short time period it was a huge mistake; but it was my mistake. Their contract is what it says it is. The manager Gary has a hard job and a tough duty to perform. I believe he is biased and just as narrow minded as the Thais’ he surrounds himself with. Time2Talk is a dying concept. They do not attempt retaining teachers. Lets visit that word.. teacher.. i do not understand why the country of Thailand would allow a f’in back packer to teach their children. Why not change the requirement and only allow certified teachers? Hey what a concept! Time2talk is a decent organization but only tells you what they want to tell you. As with any employer, do your homework before you accept anything.
